Some programs like boarding schools are meant for teens who are getting in trouble at home and need to get away from their friends who are influencing them in a negative way. These schools have great academics and also teach leadership skills. Other programs need more structure because they deal with troubled teens who have drug addictions or mental conditions. These programs have medical staff who provide therapy.

Wilderness programs put your troubled teen in an outdoor environment and teach him or her survival skills. They help teens who are addicted to drugs or alcohol because they take them out of a negative environment and teach them to overcome challenges in the outdoors. Boot camps are military-style camps for teens who are disrespectful towards authority and need a wake-up call. They are structured and instill discipline in your troubled teen through military exercises and physical training.
