There are many different kinds of programs in Hawaii and they all serve different needs. Boarding schools provide education for troubled teens who want or need to study away from home because they were disrupting family life or had bad friends who were influencing them to join them in negative behaviors. Boot camps are military-style schools where troubled teens are put in an environment with a lot of structure and strict rules, and undergo stringent physical training and military exercises. If your troubled teen has mental issues or has drug problems, a residential treatment center would be better suited to them.
